If you’re in search of a beach holiday, but want a change from large hotels and being on a large cruise ship doesn’t appeal then perhaps chartering a motor yacht in the Mediterranean might float your boat? A holiday aboard a modern yacht means privacy, fun and adventure all rolled into one exciting but deeply relaxing break.

The Misty Blue is a traditional 6 berth motor yacht built in 2002 with all mod cons and a friendly crew of three. It is moored in the Marina at Lefkas on the island of Lefkada, close to the Greece mainland. The nearest airport is Preveza, which can be reached direct from Manchester and Gatwick in around 3 hours, on a number of charter flights. Alternatively, you can fly to Athens on a budget airline then get an internal flight to Preveza. On arrival the Misty Blue’s own spacious Mercedes people carrier will be waiting to drive you to the waiting yacht, only a short 20 minute journey.

Once on board, the crew will get ready to set off, and when they hoist the anchor up, your sailing holiday will be underway with a Champagne reception. The yacht is comfortable and spacious with luxurious fitted bedrooms with en-suite facilities. There is an airy saloon with TV, video, CD player and seating. Out on the deck there is plenty of room for sunbathing and also a covered area with large dining table for al-fresco dining.

The itinerary is different for each weekly sailing, tailor made after discussions with guests to suit their personal choice. Whether the boat is hosting a family, group of friends or honeymooning couple the Misty Blue ensures the perfect holiday. The crew can drop you off using its own launch at night-time so you can enjoy a meal in a traditional taverna at one of the many charming seaside towns. A phone call to the yacht when your ready to return and the launch will come back so you can have a nightcap on-board, watching the stars, with the only sound being the waves, gently breaking. During the day, there is plenty of options. The crew can take you to private secluded bays where you can use the on-board water sport facilities such as the Banana, Donut, Water Skis and Kayaks, as well as snorkelling and fishing equipment or they can take you to a pristine beach and pick you up when you’re all ready for a snack.

The charter is all inclusive and includes breakfast, lunch, snacks, beverages including local wines and spirits, diesel and port duties. Evening meal is not included, but on request you can have a 5 course gourmet evening meal prepared on the yacht for a delicious private dining experience.

The Ionian Islands are perfect to explore during a week’s cruise. Set in the Ionian Sea, there are secluded beaches, olive groves, historic sites, top nightlife resorts, whitewashed villages to take in along the way. Depending on your agreed route the Misty Blue can call in at Corfu, the largest of the Ionian Islands, Meganissi, Scorpios owned by the Onassis Family, Kalamos, Kastos, Ithaka, Kefalonia, Paxos, Anti Paxos, and some beautiful Ports and Bays on the Mainland Coast. After a week on board, departing guests leave happy, refreshed and healthy. Their only regret being their maritime Hellenic adventure is over. However, like so many people do, they are always welcome to rebook and come on another journey on the Misty Blue.
