Jonathan Hay is gearing up for The Urban Hitchcock LP

 

Jonathan Hay was an adopted child from Florida, and is now a music-industry expert and PR Maven. Described as a ‘legendary music producer’ by International Business Times.

 

He has worked on a number of projects with big names such as; Rihanna, Whitney Houston, John Houston Entertainment, RZA & Inspectah Deck from Wu-Tang, Wiz Khalifa. Michael Jackson, Teddy Riley, Travis Meeks, Big Pun, DMC of Run DMC, Kxng Crooked and Royce da 5’9” from Slaugtherhouse, Cyhi the Prynce, DMC from Run DMC, Johnny Depp, Nappy Roots and Twista.

 

In the year 2015, Jonathan has filmed two TV shows, One Shot hosted by Sway Calloway and the upcoming TV series; The Haymaker featuring the story his of adoption reunion. Jonathan Hay was one of the co-founders of SMH Records with Mike Smith and King Tech. SMH Records made headlines with their offer of $15 million dollars to Jay Z to produce an entire album for the rap mogul. On July 1st, 2015 Jonathan Hay paid tribute to the late Keith Whitley on what would have been his 60th birthday. He recreated elements of his timeless country smash “Don’t Close Your Eyes” and made it his own in this fitting tribute that premiered exclusively on Billboard.

 

In May of 2015, When Music Worlds Collide an album co-produced by Jonathan Hay (along with Mike Smith and King Tech of SiriusXM Shade 45) was endorsed for the TIDAL Rising Program the streaming service company owned by Jay Z. TIDAL was quoted as saying, “Ten days after being featured [on TIDAL Rising] there was an 11,564.8 percent increase in streams of When Music Worlds Collide. It’s a testament to what a partnership between quality music and TIDAL can accomplish.” The album has all over the mainstream press. Singles include “Ashamed” and “I Didn’t Mean To Treat You Bad” featuring Kxng Crooked of Shady Records, “I’ve Been Waiting / Flower In The Addict”  staring Cyhi The Prynce of GOOD Music and “These Broken Wings” featuring Inspectah Deck.

 

Jonathan Hay has been in the studio working on his follow up in Atlanta, Georgia at both Patchwerks Recording Studio and Tree Sound Studios. He’s also been working in Louisville, Kentucky at Downtown Recording Studios. Hay said via email: “I’m really excited for everyone to hear The Urban Hitchcock LP as it features some of my heroes and favorite rap artists and also showcasing five exciting new artists who I truly believe are the stars of tomorrow. I believe that this album is the one where I transition from a public relations dude to a full-time music producer. The dude abides.”

 

Hay said that The Urban Hitchcock LP will be released sometime this October.
